1. 3D Printing projects
3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created. Students have created a metal 3D Printer that can be used for metallic applications.
2. Engineering Metallurgy based projects
Metallurgy is a domain of materials science and engineering that studies the physical and chemical behavior of metallic elements, their inter-metallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys.
A composite material is a combination of two materials with different physical and chemical properties. When they are combined, they create a material which is specialized to do a certain job, for instance to become stronger, lighter or resistant to electricity.
Students at KCE fabricate, analyze and test new materials in alloy or composite form that can replace the existing materials.
3. Solar Energy Powered Air Conditioner
* Air conditioners become one of the most important needs in every summer season. But the middle class families are often worried about the very high electricity bills due to the excessive AC usage.
* With this project, the solar energy is used to power up the air conditioner by developing direct electricity enabling more use of the air conditioner.

4. Automobile related projects
SAEINDIA is India’s leading resource for mobility technology. As an individual member-driven society of mobility practitioners, the ownership of SAEINDIA wrests with its members who are Individuals from the mobility community, which includes Engineers Executives from Industry, Government Officials, Academics and Students.
FFS India is a Formula prototype design, fabrication and racing competition for Engineering students. Students from KCE design and develop cars for participation in SAE SUPRA & FFS India National Level Contest.
5. Welding Projects
Welding is used in fabrication process in which the metal parts are joined by applying heat. Fusion welding and Solid-state welding are the two classification of welding processes. Dissimilar welding refers to the process of connecting materials with different alloys through welding. The filler material and both metals need to be evaluated before choosing the best way to connect the metals.
Students at KCE test some of the most important aspects of welding which includes perfect positioning of the workpiece, rigidity of the weld, ensuring the productivity, safety and low cost of production.
