Department of Electronics Engineering [VLSI Design and Technology]

About the Department

The Department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology), established in 2024 at Karpagam College of Engineering in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and industry collaboration in the field of VLSI.

The department focuses on the core areas of VLSI system design, verification, and testing—key components in the development of modern integrated circuits (IC) used across a wide range of electronic devices. Our goal is to provide students with a strong foundation in VLSI technologies, covering the complete design cycle from concept to final implementation.
The B.E. in Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design & Technology) program offers a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge and practical expertise. The curriculum is industry-oriented and supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, enabling students to gain hands-on experience in electronics fundamentals, advanced VLSI design techniques, and modern testing methodologies.
Students are trained using industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and are encouraged to solve real-world engineering problems. The department also emphasizes critical thinking, innovation, and professional ethics to prepare students for successful careers in the semiconductor industry.
With a strong commitment to quality education and skill development, the department aims to shape future-ready engineers in the rapidly evolving field of VLSI Design and Technology.
